How PT Helps Athletes Avoid Surgery
If you’re an athlete or enjoy playing sports, injuries are, unfortunately, a common occurrence. Fortunately, our GTS Physical Therapy physical therapists can help you recover after an injury and avoid the need for surgery in many cases.
Our team can help guide you through the preventive steps you can take to minimize your risk of sports injuries. If you sustain an injury, we’ll identify all the factors related to your injury and address them one by one.

What to Expect at Your Physical Therapy Sessions
Rehabilitation should start immediately following most injuries to ensure the fastest recovery possible. One of our physical therapists with sports rehab experience will thoroughly evaluate the athlete to determine the injury’s severity and identify any other weaknesses or limitations that may affect the athlete’s recovery, stability, or strength.
Physical therapy at GTS Physical Therapy will provide the foundation for successful training while reducing future injuries and avoiding surgery!
Exercise Corner: Side Bridge
Lie on your side with your elbow directly under your shoulder and your legs stacked. Lift your hips off the ground, creating a straight line from your head to your feet. Hold this position while keeping your core engaged and hips level. Switch sides after each set. 3 Sets, 30-Second Hold (each side).

GTS Highland Hosts Patient Appreciation Day
GTS Highland recently held a Patient Appreciation Day, serving up free hot dogs and hamburgers as a small token of our gratitude. We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces join us for food, fun, and community. A special thank you goes out to FNBC Bank for generously allowing us to use their grill, and to everyone who came out and helped make the day so special. Your support means the world to us!
Employee of the Month: Lane Rogers, PTA
Lane graduated from Mammoth Spring High School in 2017. He worked with the BNSF Railroad for 3 years. He then applied for the Arkansas State University – Mountain Home Physical Therapy Assistant program and graduated in 2023. He started with GTS in May of 2023. Lane lives in Hardy and enjoys hunting and fishing.
Lane was nominated by Sarah and Tiffany for employee of the month.
Sarah said, “I have been working Lane’s tail off since the beginning of the year, and that young man has never once complained, and he always treats his patients with a SMILE and even a joke. He is the best PTA GTS HAS!”
Tiffany said, “Lane is reliable, helpful, always willing to help others, goes the extra mile, positive, and just a great guy. I’m so glad that he is a part of the GTS Highland family. Thank you, Lane, for all you do. Love ya, Tiffany.”

August Hometown Strong Winner: Ava Flippin
GTS Physical Therapy is pleased to recognize Ava Flippin as our August Hometown Strong award recipient. As part of this recognition, Ava received a $1,000 award — with $500 presented to her directly and the remaining $500 donated to a charity of her choice: Hospice of the Ozarks.
Also pictured is Rebecca, representing Hospice of the Ozarks, accepting the $500 donation on behalf of the organization. Hospice of the Ozarks is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and their families during the final phases of a terminal illness and throughout the grieving process.
