Direct Access

You do not Need A Referral For Physical Therapy! Find Out More About Direct Access!

Do you think you will need a doctor’s referral to see a physical therapist? This is not true! Direct Access legislation in every state allows physical therapists to evaluate and treat patients without the need for a doctor’s referral. By removing barriers, healthcare becomes more effective and efficient, allowing you to choose physical therapy first!

Consider this scenario for a moment: you wake up with an achy back that is getting worse rather than better. When you call the doctor, you learn that you cannot be seen for another three days. That is three more days of suffering ahead of you!

However, you can see a physical therapist right now and get started immediately on your recovery with Direct Access. The sooner you see a physical therapist, the sooner you will start feeling better!

Hometown Wellness

At GTS we realize the importance of continuing with your therapy regimen and exercise plan after your physical therapy sessions have ended. Normally this would be done with a simple home exercise program that you would continue to follow as instructed by your therapist. We realize that our patients could benefit from a more structured environment so we created a Hometown Wellness Program to all former patients.

This allows patients to continue their exercise plan in a clean, safe, friendly and familiar environment but utilizing the GTS facilities and equipment and being supervised by staff they’ve come to trust. We really believe that continued health and wellness derives from exercise and activity. That’s why we feel strongly that our Hometown Wellness Program allows patients to maintain their function that they have attained with physical therapy intervention. Hometown Wellness is available for a small fee…former patients simply pay $20 per month, which is far less than you’ll find at any gymnasium or health club.

Insurance Info

Let’s face it, insurance information can be quite the doozy to figure out on your own, especially when you are trying to decipher whether or not your physical therapy treatment is covered under your policy. At GTS Physical Therapy, we accept a variety of different health insurance plans, and we are here to help you navigate the world of claims and benefits.

We understand that insurance can be complicated, so as a courtesy, we will check your health benefits before you arrive to see if there will be a copay, deductible, or coinsurance for treatment services.

Do you have any of the insurance policies listed below? We have included the majority of the major plans for which we have in-network coverage; however, this is not an exhaustive list! Please call our office at (870) 701-5089 to confirm other insurance plans.

FAQs

Do I Need To See My Doctor To Begin Therapy?

No, you may actually refer yourself directly for physical therapy. Advantages of a physician referral include a more detailed explanation of what is going on with your body, and possible diagnosis and suggestion for treatment.

Are The Treatment Rooms Private?

All our patients are treated in private rooms with doors – not in a large gym with simple curtained-off sections.

Will I See The Same Therapist At Each Visit?

Yes, one of the unique features of our clinics is that you will be seen by your physical therapist at every appointment. If for some reason your therapist is ill, we will notify you and give you a choice to postpone until your therapist returns to work, or to use an alternate therapist.

What Is The Difference Between Physical And Occupational Therapy?

Physical therapy deals with the entire body, anywhere from the inner ear and vision to the arms and legs. Physical therapists look at the body as a whole and are focused on getting people up and walking and working on balance, overall strength and core strength. Occupational therapy specializes a little more in the upper extremities, arms and hands. OT is very task-related and goes more into depth with someone’s fine motor skills and memory-type exercises and cognitive strategies.

Often PTs and OTs collaborate with others on a therapy team—doctors, nurses, social workers, speech therapists, recreational therapists and music therapists.
